Julie Kane

Julie Kane is the author of Rhythm & Booze (University of Illinois Press, 2003), which was Maxine Kumin's selection for the National Poetry Series and a finalist for the 2005 Poets' Prize, and Jazz Funeral (Story Line Press, 2009), chosen by judge David Mason for the Donald Justice Poetry Prize. New this year is a collection of humorous poems: Paper Bullets (White Violet Press, 2014). A former George Bennett Fellow in Writing at Phillips Exeter Academy, New Orleans Writer in Residence at Tulane University, and Fulbright Scholar to Vilnius Pedagogical University (Lithuania), she teaches at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She was the 2011-2013 Louisiana Poet Laureate.

Jim Davis

Jim Davis is a graduate of Knox College and an MFA candidate at Northwestern University. Jim lives, writes, and paints in Chicago, where he edits the North Chicago Review. His work has appeared in Seneca Review, Blue Mesa Review, Poetry Quarterly, Whitefish Review, The Café Review, and Contemporary American Voices, in addition to winning the Line Zero Poetry Contest, Eye on Life Poetry Prize, multiple Editor’s Choice awards, and a recent nomination for the Best of the Net Anthology.

Tobi Cogswell is a two-time Pushcart nominee. Sean Singer

Sean Singer was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, and currently lives in New York City. His first book Discography won the 2001 Yale Series of Younger Poets Prize, selected by W.S. Merwin, and the Norma Farber First Book Award from the Poetry Society of America. He is the recipient of an artists’ grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. He graduated from Indiana University and received his MFA from Washington University in St. Louis. His poems have been published in various journals, including Salmagundi, Tin House, and Pleiades. He has taught students of all ages and has most recently served at Binghamton University and Hunter College.

Dan Beachy-Quick

Poet and essayist Dan Beachy-Quick was born in Chicago and raised in Colorado and upstate New York. He was educated at Hamilton College, the University of Denver, and the University of Iowa.

Beachy-Quick's poetry collections include North True South Bright (2003);Mulberry (2006), a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Award for poetry; and This Nest, Swift Passerine(2009). He is also the author of A Whaler's Dictionary (2008), a collection of linked essays responding to Herman Melville's Moby Dick. 

Calvin Pennix

Calvin Pennix holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Chapman University and lives with his wife and daughter in Mission Viejo, CA. He is currently an instructor at Everest College, where he teaches Composition, American Literature, Critical Thinking and Algebra. Calvin’s first book of poetry, Grounds, was published by Argotist Books, his second collection, Around/About, was published by Differentia Press and his chapbook, All Dried Up, was published by quarter after press. Calvin has been a featured artist at Counterexample Poetics and has had his poetry recently appear in Mad Hatters Review Blog, On Barcelona, Otoliths, Certain Circuits, experiential-experimental-literature, The Altered Scale, and Upstairs at Duroc. He is also the founding editor of quarter after/quarter after press a place for poetry, poetics and art.

Kylan Rice has had poetry published in The Examined Life, Thrush, decomP magazinE, Brusque Magazine and elsewhere. He is editor forLikewise Folio. He lives in Utah.
