We are currently accepting submissions!
The submission period for the 2014 issue ends January 6th, 2014.
Anyone may submit works of prose, creative non-fiction, poetry, dramatic works, and art. Simultaneous submissions are fine; we just ask that you inform us as soon as a piece is accepted elsewhere. We blind read the majority of the works which appear in the journal. On occasion we may also solicit a few contributors. All contributors will receive a complimentary journal.
Specific Guidelines:
Work that does not meet the minimal guidelines laid out below will not be read. We only accept work submitted via email and sent as an attachment. All text submissions should be in .rtf, .doc or .docx format.
Prose/Creative Non-Fiction: Submit only one work at a length of 5-7 pages.
Poetry: Submit 3-5 poems in any form. In general, longer poems should earn the space they occupy.
Dramatic Works: Submit a piece which may be performed in 5 to 10 minutes. Should not exceed 15 pages.
Art: Submit 3-5 pieces. All submissions should be sent as JPEG (.jpg) and have a resolution of at least 300 dpi. We accept black and white and color.
Email Guidelines
Send work as an attachment to mayoreview@gmail.com. In your subject line please include the genre you are submitting (you may submit to multiple genres in separate emails) and your name as you would have it to appear in the journal (Ex: "Poetry Submission - Charles Jensen"), Include a brief bio with the name you would like to appear with the piece, street address, and email.
Copyright
The Mayo Review reserves the right to make obvious grammatical and typographic corrections to accepted works (though this is rare). Accepted work will appear in print and may be featured online. The author retains copyright to work once it is published.

Our editorial staff is composed of volunteers. Works will be reviewed over the long Winter Break (between December and February); if you have not been contacted by March 2014, please feel free to send us an email to follow up. We apologize for the long turn around time.
