Jennifer Givhan

Jennifer Suzanne Givhan is the author of the poetry collection Red Sun Mother and the novel manuscript In The Time of Jubilee. She’s at work on a second novel and a second poetry collection. A National Latino Writers’ Conference scholarship recipient, she received a grant to attend the low-residency MFA program at Warren Wilson College. She lives in Albuquerque with her husband, parents, and two young children.

Shaindel Beers

Shaindel Beers’ poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies. She is currently an instructor of English at Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Oregon, in Eastern Oregon’s high desert and serves as Poetry Editor of Contrary. A Brief History of Time, her first full-length poetry collection, was released by Salt Publishing in 2009.

Jeff Albers

Jeff Albers' work has been featured in/on McSweeney's Internet Tendency, LA Record, and DASH Literary Journal. He grew up in Southern California and currently resides in Tempe, Arizona where he is a fiction candidate in the MFA Program in Creative Writing at Arizona State University.

Matty Byloos

Matty Byloos's first collection of short stories, Don't Smell the Floss, was published in 2009 by Write Bloody Books. His work has been published in: Everyday Genius, Housefire, Dark Sky Magazine, The Magazine of Bizarro Fiction, Matchbook, Stoked, Bomb, Unshod Quills, The Nervous Breakdown,The Fanzine, Pop Serial, Sparkle and Blink, The Portland Review, among others. He is the editor and publisher of Small Doggies Magazine, and co-hosts (along with Carrie Seitzinger) the Small Doggies Reading Series in Portland, OR, where he lives and works. He is recently completed his first novel, It Has Always Been the End.

Taylor Mali

Taylor Mali was one of the original poets to appear on the HBO series "Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry." The author of two collections of poetry, "What Learning Leaves" and "The Last Time As We Are," his work has appeared in anthologies and other publications including The Outlaw Bible of American Poetry, The Idiot’s Guide to Slam Poetry, Spoken Word Revolution, The Tampa Review, Pank, Taj Mahal Review, Cadillac Cicatrix, Spindle, and Paddlefish. He runs the Page Meets Stage reading series at the Bowery Poetry Club in New York City.

Shane Seely

Shane Seely is a Senior Lecturer in the English Department at Washington University in St. Louis, where he teaches composition and creative writing and acts as Assistant Director of the university's freshman writing program. A native of northern Pennsylvania, he was educated in Pennsylvania, Kansas, and New York. He earned an MFA in creative writing at Syracuse University. He lives in St. Louis with his wife and their dog.

His poems have appeared in Crab Orchard Review, Arts & Letters, Notre Dame Review, Bellingham Review, Prairie Schooner, and other journals, and on the Poetry Daily website. His work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and for inclusion in Best Young Poets 2008.

Irena Praitis

Irena Praitis is a professor of literature and creative writing at California State University, Fullerton. A Pushcart Prize nominee, she was a Fulbright Scholar in Vilnius, Lithuania and has published two collections of verse, Touch (Finishing Line Press) and Branches (D-N Publishing), and a book of biographical prose vignettes, One Woman’s Life (Diversion Press. She also co-wrote Still Life (Calder Wood Press), a collection of translated works by Lithuanian poet Sonata Paliulyte. Her latest collection of poems, Straws and Shadows, debuted this July from Moon Tide Press.
